The Public Defender met with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities

On April 15, the Public Defender met with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Astrid Thors who is on an official visit to Georgia. Ucha Nanuashvili provided the High Commissioner with detailed information on the situation of legal rights of ethnic minorities in Georgia and reviewed issues of fulfillment of the National Concept for Tolerance and Civic Integration for 2012-2013.

On April 16 Jewish world celebrates holocaust remembrance day. According to the Jewish calendar, it has been celebrated on Nisan 27 (Fist month of biblical calendar). Therefore, date on the Julian calendar permanently   moves. "Yom-a-Shoah" was established for honoring 6 million Jews killed by the Nazi regime (including 1 million children).

Anne Frank exhibition in Europe House

On march 23, at 17:00, non-government organisation "Analytical Center for Interethnic Cooperation and Consultations" (ACICC)  will open Anna Frank exhibition in Europe House, Tbilisi, Georgia. The General Assembly of the United Nations declared 21 March the International Day for the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination. Since the early 1990s, UNITED coordinates every year around 21 March the European-wide Action Week Against Racism.Ana Frank Dairies, which shows the crimes made by Facist regime is translated to many languages worldwide.

Youth Ministerial Meeting: Call for Applicants

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The ATA is recruiting exceptional rising leaders between 25 and 35 years old from both NATO Member and NATO Partner Countries to participate in the unique Youth Ministerial Meeting. On this occasion we are seeking emerging leaders from a wide range of backgrounds including young professionals with connections to elected officials, military experts, journalists, academics, PR professionals, legislative staff, and other mid-career professionals in a position to help drive the debate on security and transatlantic relations.
The aim of the YMM is to give emerging young professionals an opportunity to learn first-hand what it means to be a world leader. The participants will have the privilege to meet senior diplomats and experts in the field and develop their knowledge and skills by engaging in discussions and workshops with key stakeholders working within the field of security and defense.

HUMRA – Human Rights Animation. Research Report. From April 15 to May 15, 2014 Analytical Center for Interethnic Cooperation and Consultations (ACICC) conducted research in the framework of the project HUMRA – Human Rights Animation. Target group of the research were teachers and youngsters. Research activities were undertaken separately for each target groups as result of which were interviewed 30 teachers and 100 youngsters.

 Report of the Public Defender of Georgia on Human Rights Situation in Georgia for 2012

On March 30, 2013 Ucha Nanuashvili, the Public Defender of Georgia presented the Report on Human Rights Situation in Georgia for 2012 to the Parliament of Georgia. 
The report addresses wide spectrum of human rights and fundamental freedoms and discusses main tendencies in protecting civil and political as well as economic, social and cultural rights in Georgia. 
The year of 2012 was very important in the history of Georgia. Elections of 2012 marked the first peaceful transition of power since independence.   
Significant improvement in human rights situation in various spheres has been detected since elections in Georgia. However, number of serious problems still remains.
